Thank you for visiting our Athletics webpage!  All three of our comprehensive high schools offer outstanding athletics opportunities for our students.  Our Middle Schools also offer a variety of organized after school sports programs.

All students participating in high school athletics or middle school after school sports are required to have medical clearance (sports physical) and must be registered and cleared on Home Campus before tryouts!

Good to Know

Expectations
To provide safe, competitive, athletic learning environments for all students we request that the following expectations be honored for all sites and programs.

Playing Time
Participation in high school athletics differs from youth or recreational “pay-to-play” programs. Eligibility and playing time are determined by factors such as academic standing (2.0 requirement,) skill development, effort, team needs, and consistent attendance at practices and competitions.

Because high school athletics are competitive, players who demonstrate stronger performance and readiness may earn starting positions or increased playing time. Coaches are committed to developing all student-athletes and providing opportunities for growth during practices so players can continue to improve and work toward earning greater roles.

However, playing time is not guaranteed and remains at the discretion of the coaching staff. Decisions are made based on what best supports the team and the role each player fulfills during a given season, game, or situation.

24-Hour Waiting Period
Athletics can be an emotional experience for athletes and families. To promote respectful and productive communication, a 24-hour waiting period is required before discussing concerns related to a game or competition.

Parents and athletes should not approach coaches with concerns on the day of a contest. Allowing time for reflection helps ensure conversations remain constructive.

Chain of Communication
Concerns regarding athletic participation should follow the steps outlined below:

  1. The student-athlete and/or parent/guardian should first speak directly with the Head Coach to discuss the concern.
  2. If the concern remains unresolved, the parent/guardian may contact the Athletic Director via email.
  3. If additional review is necessary, the parent/guardian may contact the Assistant Principal or site administrator responsible for athletics.

Following this chain of communication helps ensure concerns are addressed appropriately, efficiently, and respectfully. Individuals who bypass these steps may be directed back to the appropriate level for resolution.
