School starts at 8:00. Welcome Back!

TK/ Kindergarten Orientation will be held in Room 9 on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at 2:00 PM.  We will introduce the teachers and PTA president. This orientation will give you the opportunity to become acquainted with the school, first week procedures and the learning environment. I hope you will plan to attend this orientation as it will make the first few days of school a smoother transition for you and your child.

Traffic News

Dropping off and picking up after school is always a challenge.  We have implemented a plan to make things safer.

• The front curb on Ann St.  is for immediate loading and unloading only.  It is a NO PARKING zone from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM and Ventura Police have ticketed cars parked during this time.  If your student is not out front waiting for you please pull away and circle the block. Pull forward as far as you can to allow cars to pull in behind you.  As cars pull away, continue to move up.

• Under no circumstances should you double park and have students walk between cars.  Remember they are not parked but moving in and out from the curb.  It is very hard for drivers to see kids moving quickly between cars.

• Please model safety by using the crosswalks rather than crossing in the middle of the block.  With cars moving in and out from the curb and parents watching for their students, it is hard to see pedestrians who are running across the street.

• The busiest time is 7:50 am - 8:00 am.  Plan to leave 5-10 minutes earlier and there is less traffic at this time.

• After school, you may want to park and walk to pick up your child.  It is a good time to talk with other parents and check in with you students on the way back to the car.

• Remember breakfast is available each morning between 7:30 am– 7:50 am.  It may save time for you to get your children dressed and bring them to school early for breakfast.

Dejar y recoger despues de clases siempre es un reto.  Hemos implementado un plan para que sea más seguro.

• El bordillo de enfrente en Ann St.  es solo para carga y descarga inmediata.  Este lugar NO ES ZONA DE ESTACIONAMIENTO de 7:30 AM a 3:30 PM y la Policía de  Ventura ha multado a los dueños de los autos estacionados en esta zona durante ese tiempo. Si su estudiante no está afuera esperándolo, por favor retírese y circule el bloque.   Adelantese lo más que pueda para que permita que otros autos se detengan detrás de usted. A medida que los autos se van, continúe adelantándose.

• Bajo ninguna circunstancia debe estacionarse en doble fila y hacer que los estudiantes caminen entre los automóviles.  Recuerde que no están estacionados, sino que se mueven dentro y fuera  de la acera. Es muy difícil para los conductores ver a los niños caminar rápidamente entre los automóviles.

• Por favor, modele la seguridad utilizando los cruces peatonales en lugar de cruzar a medio bloque.  Con los autos entrando y saliendo de la acera los padres buscando a sus alumnos, es difícil ver a los peatones que cruzan la calle corriendo.

• El horario más ocupado es de 7:50 am - 8:00 am.  Planee salir 5-10 minutos antes y hay menos tráfico a ese tiempo.

• Después de clases, es posible que desee estacionar y  caminar para recoger a su hijo. Es un buen momento para hablar con otros padres y platicar con su estudiantes mientras caminan de regreso al automóvil..

• Recuerde que tenemos desayuno disponible todas las mañanas entre las 7:30 am– 7:50 am.  Vestir a sus hijos y traerlos a la escuela temprano para el desayuno puede ahorrarle tiempo.
