Mission Statement

Cabrillo Middle School Library's mission embraces the core values of Mariners, explorers who rigorously pursue knowledge through reading and research, forge print and technological literacy skills, satisfy curiosity, and positively collaborate with others. Our library welcomes all members of the Cabrillo community, supports every student's learning and intellectual access, guides safe and responsible navigation of online information, and promotes cultural awareness and our rich diversity.

Textbook Responsibilities:

(this applies to library materials as well)

For ALL Consumable Textbooks: write your name and teacher’s name inside the book. This book is yours to use for the year; you will be charged for a replacement.

Immediately check the condition of your books.

Textbooks found to have existing damage must be brought to the library within 7 days of checkout.

Beyond this ONE WEEK grace period, students are responsible for loss and damage of materials, beyond expected wear and tear, up to the district cost for replacement.

Record your barcode numbers in your planner (or take a photo on your phone). Make sure it is the SCHOOL barcode.

You are responsible for returning these materials in good condition.

A price list of textbooks and schedule for damages are posted in the library and on the Library webpage.

Battle of the Books

Love to read? Like playing competitive games? Are you a team player? Then Battle of the Books is for you!  Join us every Friday at lunch in the library starting Friday September 14. We will discuss, play games, and have fun with the twenty books on this year's list (click here).
