Here at Balboa Middle School…

The three full-time School Counselors help develop students’ abilities to find success in the educational and social environment during the middle school years.  Each school counselor is certified with a minimum of a master’s degree and a School Counseling credential, making them uniquely qualified to address academic, college and career, and social and emotional needs.  Counselors provide all students with lessons necessary to build their knowledge, skills, and attitudes to support their academic and life goals..

Balboa counselors spend most of their time working directly with students individually, in small support groups, and in the classrooms delivering academic, social/emotional, and college and career  lessons.  As school counselors, we find this stage of life exciting and we enjoy the opportunity to help your children map out their future plans for middle school, high school, and life beyond high school graduation.

School-Wide Events  As part of our comprehensive counseling program, counselors coordinate school-wide events such as Career Day and College Week.
