Title VI

Title VI (Part A- Indian Education; Part C-Alaska Native Education)  

This program is designed to address the unique cultural, language, and educationally related academic needs of American Indian and Alaska Native students. The programs funded are to meet the unique cultural, language, and educational needs of Indian students and ensure that all students meet the challenging State academic standard. The program is the US Department of Education’s principal vehicle for addressing the particular needs of Indian children.

Ventura Unified School District is the recipient of Title VI Formula Grant funding for the Ventura County Indian Education Consortium (VCIEC).  Members of the VCIEC include the following Ventura County school districts and public charter schools:  Conejo Valley Unified School District, Hueneme Elementary School District, Fillmore Unified School District, Moorpark Unified School District, Oak Park Unified School District, Ojai Unified School District, Oxnard School District, Oxnard Union High School District, Pleasant Valley School District, Rio School District, Simi Valley Unified School District, Ventura Unified School District (LEA), ACE Charter, CAPE Charter, Vista Real Charter, and Ventura Charter.
