As we continue to receive and digest guidelines from the CDC, Governor, California Department of Education, Ventura County Public Health and Ventura County Superintendents, we will act in a proactive way planning for various scenarios that could be put into place depending on the guidance we receive . We will provide more information as we have it.

Food and Nutrition

Food and Nutrition will continue to provide meals to our students. To minimize the risk to our employees who are on the front lines daily and our families, we will be distributing meals once a week for the rest of the school year.. We will be distributing on Mondays from 11:30 am- 1 pm at the usual six sites (see below).

1. Atlas Elementary School 760 Jazmin Avenue, Ventura
2. Montalvo Elementary 2050 Grand Avenue, Ventura
3. Will Rogers Elementary 316 Howard Street, Ventura
4. Data Middle School 2060 Cameron Street, Ventura
5. Sheridan Way Elementary 573 Sheridan Way, Ventura
6. Sunset K-8 School 400 Sunset Ave., Oak View

Due to the rise in the number of meals that some families have requested, we now need to limit the number of meals one family can pick up for children ages 1-18. That weekly limit will be five meal packs (breakfast and lunch). We ask that each family only take what they need for the children in their care.

Meals are staple items for both breakfast and lunch and are first-come, first-serve. Please follow the food safety guidelines below:

-Keep refrigerated items refrigerated.  Example: milk, string cheese
-Keep frozen items either refrigerated or frozen until heating for consumption.  Example: burrito, corn dog
-Heat items fully for consumption.
-Rinse fresh fruit or produce items before consumption.
-Discard any items that have reached an expiration date.
-Discard any leftovers by end of day Friday.
-Meals items are subject to change due to availability of products
