SPPE works with school sites to ensure compliance with the tenets of No Child Left Behind (NCLB): the district's Local Education Agency (LEA) Plan, each site's Single

Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA), Program Improvement (PI), and articulating with Private Schools.
In addition, SPPE oversees mandated state testing programs: the Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR), including the annual California Standards Tests (CST), and the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE); the Physical

Fitness Test (PFT); and the California English Language Development Test (CELDT).
SPPE provides schools with pertinent data to assist them in formulating next steps to improving student achievement.
