Disaster Preparedness
The Ventura Unified School District has developed a Districtwide Emergency Preparedness Plan to assure the safety and welfare of the students and staff. In addition, each school has developed a School Site Plan for Earthquake/Disaster Preparedness designed to meet the specific needs of that school. In the event of an emergency such as fire, flood, explosion or threat of earthquakes, or chemical spills, your child will be kept at the school and released only to you or a person designated on your child's emergency card.

During a disaster, all School District employees automatically become disaster service workers and are required to remain on site to care for the children.

Please do not call the school and/or District Office during an earthquake or other disaster.

Parents should tune radios to KHAY 100.7 FM or KVEN 1450 AM for emergency information. The District will continually update radio stations on the status of schools, if communication is possible.
