Fundraising Events

Poinsettia has a distinguished history as an outstanding school in our community, and the PTO has played an important role for decades. This year, despite continued budget cuts, Poinsettia students will continue to benefit from a computer teacher and lab. These resources are not funded by the school or the district, but by PTO fundraising.

Providing these valuable resources, in addition to assemblies, art supplies, and playground equipment, is possible only with your support. More than ever, we need your help to raise the money to fund these programs.

Volunteering is a great way to be involved in your child's school, help the PTO, and make new friends. If you'd like to help one of the following committees, fill out the form that your child brings home on the first day of school.

Barrels for Bytes Silent Auction - Friday, February 2, 2018

A two part event with ticket sales and local food, wine, and beer tastings, while you browse and bid on donated silent auction items. Help organize and coordinate this adult only evening to fundraise for the computer lab and library staff.

Book Fair – December 4-8, 2017
Alicia Espinoza
Work with Scholastic Book Fair representative and coordinate volunteers for week long book fair and family night. Maybe organize a Barnes and Noble's book fair.

Box Tops
Help with box top collection and turn in for school funds

Bulletin Board and Marquee
Ensure bulletin boards and marquees are up to date with school related activities and dates.

CARE Network
Provide aid to families who are in need by providing home cooked meal and grocery gift cards.

Carnival - April 23, 2017
Help organize and coordinate teams of volunteers for our school Carnival. Sub-committees include: setup, prizes/games, food, events, cleanup, sponsors, etc.

Carnival Silent Auction - April 21, 2018
Acquire donations and sponsors for auction to be held on day of Carnival. Help run auction, dispense winners' baskets, and cleanup.

Shop for Our School
Participate in shopping programs to benefit our school.

Field Trip Accounting

Help with PTO Treasurer with collection and distribution of field trip budget and funds 

Goliath Gear
Abby Lyden
Sell and distribute Poinsettia school shirts and sweatshirts.

Goliath Gazette
Help write and publish school newsletter

Grant Writing
Research grants that Poinsettia can qualify for and write requests for grants.

Attend school activities and events taking pictures to prepare year-end slide show.

Help organize lunches and celebrations to support our teachers throughout the year.

Ninja Jog-a-Thon, October 6, 2017
Need coordinator and volunteers to set up, organize classes to run,  distribute pledge packets and collection, provide water and healthy snacks, set up other activities if desired (jumpies, games).


Deliver and pickup materials from classrooms to be laminated at District Office on Stanley Ave

Outdoor Education - 5th Grade

Coordination of the various 5th Grade fundraisers for Outdoor Education attendance. This takes place during the 5th grade year August 2017 - January 2018.

Outdoor Education - 4th Grade
Coordination of the various fundraisers February 2018 - January 2019 for Outdoor Education attendance during 4th year.

Outdoor Education - 3rd Grade
Needed for 5th Grade outdoor education awareness. Fundraising begins February 2019 - January 2020

Collect delivered recycle items and turn in for school funds. 

Recycling Prize Cart Operator
Run the prize cart for student awareness.

Room Parent Coordinator
Assure teachers have a room parent for assistance and communication distribution

Attend safety meetings with other school reps, work with the school, the district and the city on traffic safety, help with school safety requirements (earthquake kit).
