Who was E.P. Foster?
E. P. Foster School is named after Eugene P. Foster, a man who helped shape our city and county into what it is today. He was a benefactor to community health and the general public, leaving us a legacy of parks, banks, hospitals, and community service. E. P. Foster donated many pieces of land and buildings around Ventura including Community Memorial Hospital, Foster Park, Camp Comfort, and a majority of Seaside Park, home to the fairgrounds. He was also instrumental in arranging for Steckel Park to become a gift to the community. His benevolence has touched us all in some way, and we at E. P. Foster School are proud to bear his name.
