Opportunities

El Camino High School at Ventura College is one of few high schools in the state of California that is a middle college academy program. This partnership offers students a unique opportunity to earn dual credit. The college courses that are taken are reflected on both the high school transcript and the student’s college transcript. Our high school campus is located directly on the Ventura Community College campus. ECHS students use the college library and labs, and can participate in all events at Ventura College. Students may enroll in courses at Ventura College to:

• Enhance academic standing
• Establish advanced study credit
• Complete requirements for an AA degree or certificate program
• Complete undergraduate requirements to transfer to a four year university
• Earn credits at VC which transfer to ECHS at an accelerated rate of credit and are applied to high school graduation requirements
• Obtain daily instruction in courses such as math and foreign language
