Interdistrict Transfers

Interdistrict transfers are required when either a student who lives outside of the boundaries of Ventura Unified School District wants to attend a VUSD school or when a student who resides in the VUSD boundaries wishes to attend school in another district.  In either case, both school districts must approve the transfer.

For Transfers within Ventura County:

~ Assembly Bill 2444 - Interdistrict Transfers ~

Effective January 1, 2011:  A student who is already enrolled in a school district on an interdistrict permit after January 1, 2011, no longer has to re-apply for a transfer and will continue to attend the school in which he or she is enrolled as a resident of the district.  The exception would be if a student's permit was revoked for violating an attendance contract or behavior concerns.  Districts shall not rescind existing transfers for students entering grades 11 or 12.  It would behoove the parents and students to carefully read the terms and conditions of the interdistrict attendance agreement before signing it.

Per VUSD Administrative Regulation 5117:  Parents must renew the student interdistrict permits for the 6th and 9th grades.
