I hope to expose students to a variety of arts media by exploring cultures around the globe. We will be learning about traditional arts, as well as graphic arts.
I have a bachelor's degree in art education from Northern Illinois University and master's degree in educational administration from Cal State University, Northridge.
I have a sinle subject credential in Art, as well as a designated subject credential in Career and Technical Education. I have taught technology, art and/or work experience and career education for the past 14 years in the Ventura Unified School District.
|
I have been a technology mentor for Ventura County and plan to incorporate technology into the arts in order to prepare our students to meet the demands of technology in today's educational system, the workplace and society.
I have served on a variety of career and technical education committees at the site, district and state level.
I have spent 12 years working at Ventura High School and hope to assist our middle school students in transitioning to the high school environment.

The painting to the right, The Hungry Lion, were part of Rousseau's jungle series. They were painted around 1905.
DATA students created their own Rousseau-like multi-media project. They also created a graphic interpretation of the William Blake poem, The Tiger. See their pictures in the student/gallery of this website.

The pictures at right show pages from the Book of Kells in Ireland. It is famous for its beautiful illuminated letters and illustrations.
DATA students created their own version of illuminated letters by decorating the initials of their name and then coloring them in with colored pencils.
