The California Band Directors Association has announced that Tristan Anderson, Danielle Askar, Will Borchard, Bennett Guillaume, Marcello Ma, John Marcoux, and John Nyznyk from Cabrillo Middle School have been selected through audition to be a participant in the 2013 CALIFORNIA ALL-STATE HONOR BANDS. The All-State Bands are held in conjunction with the California Band Directors Association annual convention in Fresno, California on February 21-24, 2013. There were approximately 1,600 students from schools throughout the state that auditioned for the 2013 All-State Bands and the best students were selected. These students are members of the Cabrillo Middle School Wind Ensemble under the direction of Mario Boccali. The Board of Directors of the California Band Directors Association congratulates these individuals for their successful efforts in becoming a part of the All-State Honor Bands.
The Cabrillo Music Department is pleased to announce that John Marcoux (Oboe), Tristan Anderson (Oboe), Elise Bartel (Clarinet), Lucy Curtis (Clarinet), Sicilia Smith (Bassoon), Marcello Ma (Trumpet), Danielle Askar (Trumpet), Paul Marcoux (Trumpet), Bennett Guillaume (Horn), Will Borchard (Horn), Vance Barnum (Euphonium), and John Nyznyk (Tuba) from Cabrillo Middle School have been selected by audition to be a participant in the 2013 Ventura County Middle School Honor Band. There were approximately 200 students from schools throughout the county that auditioned and the best students were selected. The Honor Band Concert will be held at the Buena High School Auditorium on Friday, March 1, 2013, at 7:00 pm.
