Kindness Counts
Today's kindness contest winner is a poem by an anonymous student who is helping out at Cabrillo.
Just Smile
It just takes a smile
It's really not much,
I do it a bunch.
It makes people stop
And think for a while,
How good it feels just to smile.
If not a smile, how about a kind deed?
“Is this your book? You dropped it, I see.”
“You can go first, I'm in no hurry.”
When you do a kind deed, there's no need to worry.
So show a mile or do a kind deed,
It works just the same, as you can see.
For this day's kindness we choose Ernesto Rodriguez with his quote, “We must work to keep our school clean. We should keep the trash in its proper place. If we work together, we can have a very nice school.”
This is a poem called Act of Kindness by Chris Alvarez.
Be respectful to all teachers and staff of Cabrillo.
A great entry was entered by Robin Fallandy on how to be kind.
Share a smile,
That can be seen from a mile,
Surely it'll last a while,
Maybe as long as the placeNile.
Sit with someone new at lunch,
Break away from your normal bunch.
Sit with someone else and munch,
Help clean up their spilt punch.
Here is a poem from Ms. Morningstar's class.
A simple act of kindness can be done everyday.
You can help people out, in even a little way.
You can hold the door or lend a pencil,
Pick up trash or donate a book.
Help a teacher or give a friendly look.
All acts of kindness help in different ways,
So try to do one at least everyday.
(By Natalie Smith)
“One act of kindness is helping a classmate with work they don't understand how to do.” (Anonymous)
Here is an act of kindness we could all appreciate, “If you see someone you don't know who is looking sad, cheer them up.” From Sienna Birdsall. (Mr. Erickson)
Friends of Rachel has chosen this piece of wisdom by an anonymous student, “Help someone pick up the things they dropped…instead of laughing at them.” (Mr. Erickson)
Friends of Rachel has decided that Annabelle Warren is the winner of the Kindness Contest with her quote:“Be optimistic, even in the worst of times or gloomiest of days.”
Peace, Mariners! We have found our kindness winners. We have found great kindness, but the
winner is “Give someone a smile as you pass them in the hall” by Anonymous.
