For those of you who are interested, I'll take a moment to tell you a little about myself . I was born and raised in Southern California. I (as well as an older and younger brother) am a product of Ventura public schools, having attended Will Rogers, Cabrillo and Buena.
For college I chose Cal State University Northridge and earned a bachelor's degree in psychology. I then elected to attend graduate school and major in education. I lived in Chicago, Illinois for four years and earned my master's degree from DePaul University. While in Chicago I taught fifth grade for three years. I took advantage of living in a new area by traveling to a lot of major league baseball stadiums and historic landmarks during my summer breaks.
During my last year living in Chicago I met and married my husband Guillaume. My husband is French, but was living in London when we married. We lived in London together for two years. I taught in a private British/American school called Centre Academy. While in London we had the fortunate opportunity to travel a little around Europe.
We (re)settled in Ventura in 2002. This is when I became a teacher in the Ventura Unified School District. I have been an eighth grade teacher at Cabrillo since 2003. I am lucky enough to be teaching my two favorite subjects- U.S. history and language arts- to a semi-cored group of students. (This means I have all my students for both subjects.) My husband and I are very pleased with life here in Ventura- you really can't beat the weather!
In 2004 my husband and I welcomed our son Lucca into our family. We were lucky enough in 2007 to expand our family with our daughter Lola. Both children are active, curious and lots of fun. Lucca attends Mound Elementary School and Lola does her darndest to keep up with her big brother. I truly believe watching them grow and discover has helped me in my teaching. I am very grateful to them for enriching my life on every level.
