FAFSA:    ALL students planning to attend college over the next few years must complete the Free Application for Student Aid or your financial aid packages will be jeopardized.  Remember to use the following website so you are not charged:  www.fafsa.ed.gov/

Santa Barbara Business College:  Interested in a career in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Paralegal, Fitness Training, Massage Therapy, Vocational Nursing, Medical Assisting, Medical Office Systems, Pharmacy Technician, or Network Administration?  Information is available in our Career Center along with scholarship applications.   Financial aid is available for those who qualify.

VCCGA Shirley Blackburn:  Applicant must be a well-rounded senior who has maintained acceptable grades and also contributed in other ways to the community either in school, clubs, organizations, work, sports, or as a volunteer.  Financial need may be considered.  Must submit application along with one letter of recommendation and a transcript.  Application is available in our Career Center.            APPLICATION DEADLINEApril 16, 2010

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority:  Applicants must be of African-American descent and have a 2.75 GPA or above.  Application is available in our Career Center.           APPLICATION DEADLINE:  April 9, 2010

Mitz-Khan-a-khan Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is giving $500 scholarships to two Ventura area students.  Applicant must submit a letter of recommendation and an essay of 150 words or less telling who you are and the things you do.  Application available in our Career Center.                                                                      APPLICATION DEADLINE:  April 15, 2010

Fabric of Society Essay Competition:  De La Rosa & Co. will award a $2,000 scholarship to a Buena student.   Applicants must write a 600-800 word essay, be in good standing and on track to graduate in 2010.  Application is available online at www.ejdelarosa.com and from your English teacher. Channel Islands Masonic Lodge:  One $500 scholarship will be awarded to a Buena High student.  Applicants must have 3.5 GPA and plan to attend a two or four-year college.  Application is available in our Career Center. APPLICATION DEADLINE:  April 19, 2010

Arizona Press Women:  APW offers a $1,000 scholarship to students who wish to study journalism at an Arizona college or university.  Application is available in our Career Center or online at www.azpw.org/scholarship.html.                       APPLICATION DEADLINE:  April 11, 2010

Telesis Community Credit Union:  Applicants must either join or already be a member or have an immediate relative who is a member of Telesis Community Credit Union and must have a GPA of 2.0.  Eight (8) $500 scholarships will be awarded.  Application is available in our Career Center.            APPLICATION DEADLINE:  April 15, 2010

VUEA:  Ventura Unified Education Association (for children of Certificated VUSD Personnel).  Must have 3.0 GPA and have met the UC and CSU eligibility requirements.  Application is available online at www.vcea.org and in our Career Center.           APPLICATION DEADLINE:  April 15, 2010

VCEA:  Ventura Classified Employees Association (for children of Classified VUSD Personnel)  There are a total of four $1,000 dollar scholarships awarded; three based on merit and one based on financial need and citizenship.  Must have 3.0 GPA for merit based.  Application is available online at www.venturaclassified.org and in our Career Center APPLICATION DEADLINE:  April 16, 2010

Rotary Club of Ventura East:  Selection for this scholarship will be based on academics and financial need.  Application is available in our Career Center.                       APPLICATION DEADLINE:  April 12, 2010

California Women for Agriculture:  Applicant must be pursuing a career in agriculture or related subject areas.  Student and/or parent must be employed in Ventura County agriculture and must be member of FFA, 4-H, or Grange.  Application is available in our Career Center.                      APPLICATION DEADLINE:  April 30, 2010

Olivas Links Men’s Golf Club is offering a $1,000 Scholarship to assist a boy or girl attending a community college or  a four-year university.  Applicant must be actively involved in high school golf and have a minimum GPA of 3.0.  Application is available in our Career Center.                    APPLICATION DEADLINE:  May 8, 2010

River Ridge Senior Men’s Golf Club is offering a $1,000 Scholarship to assist a boy or girl attending a community college or a four-year university.  Applicant must be actively involved in high school golf and have a minimum GPA of 3.0.  Application is available in our Career Center.                   APPLICATION DEADLINE:  May 8, 2010

Nylen Trust: Emma Nylen Trust Fund is based on financial need and student motivation.  Approximately 20-50 scholarships are provided through the Boys & Girls Club of Ventura every year.  Application is available in our Career Center.                                                                                APPLICATION DEADLINE:  May 21, 2010

C.S.E.Civil Service Employees – Insurance Company – is launching a Youth Automobile Safety Scholarship Program for 2010, and essay competition for high school seniors who are children of full-time or retired public employees.  Scholarships of from $500 to $1500 will be awarded based on the merit of student essays that propose ways to reduce the accident rate among teenagers.   Application in our Career Center.  APPLICATION RECEIPT DEADLINE: Monday, April 5, 2010
