Our website’s goal is a brief introduction to the Buena Vista High School’s 9th and 10th grade program within the auspices of Buena High School. Buena Vista is located on the campus of Buena High School and is designed to offer students an alternative setting to the high school experience.
This alternative method prepares students whose needs are better served by a more personal and individualized learning experience. Buena Vista prepares students to integrate into Buena High School by 11th grade. The staff consists of two full time teachers and guidance counselor who share the same core values as Buena High School with the same objective of putting the student’s needs first. Administration, faculty and counselors will work simultaneously with the student to help them develop the necessary skills, learning techniques and study habits that will aide in this transition.
Furthermore, while enrolled at Buena Vista, students are expected to complete the necessary courses to remain on track for graduation. In addition to passing the course requirements, during their 10th grade year, students will take the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) in English Language Arts and Mathematics. The CAHSEE is a requirement for graduation.
