A Message from Ms. Boggio

Welcome Anacapa families to the 2016-2017 school year!

I am excited about the true privilege it is to work with you and your student in ensuring your student’s social and academic success.  Middle school is a special time in a child’s life where he/she is making new friends and working on his/her journey toward high school graduation.  This time in their educational journey can present many challenges, yet great rewards.  It is our job to work together; school, families and students in order to make the journey a safe and fulfilling experience.

It is important that you continue to be involved in your student’s education at home and at school.  I encourage you to be involved by participating in one of our parent groups: Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), School Site Council (SSC), or the English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC).

I also hope you can attend a parent workshop or volunteer at school or in the classroom.  You can find a list of volunteer opportunities on our school website.  In addition, we aim to maintain open lines of communication via a quarterly newsletter, teacher and school websites, e-mail, Edulink calls, school marquis, and our school agenda.

The school agenda provides important information regarding school policies, the dress code and serves as an organizational tool for students.  It is important that you take time to review the agenda with your student so the transition into the New Year is a smooth one.  Students can do their part by practicing our Guidelines for Success and demonstrating their Anacapa PRIDE.

 ISLANDERS are:
 P: Prepared
 R: Respectful
 I:   Inclusive
 D: Determined
 E:  Encouraging

It is my hope that as we work together to ensure that students demonstrate these five guidelines, they will experience success in middle school.  Our staff is continuing to grow professionally in order to provide the best educational strategies and curriculum in preparing your student for the future.  I encourage and welcome your presence at school so that you can share in your student’s classroom experience.

Please feel free to contact the main office if you have any questions about the school or daily procedures.  Also, visit our school website to find many answers to your questions.  I look forward to working with staff, parents/guardians and students as we continue to move our school forward.

Cordially,

Barbara Boggio
