Local Public Libraries

The Ventura County and Camarillo Public Libraries provide resources, activities, classes, special events, events for kids, teens and adults. Library hours vary by location.

Ojai Recreation Department

In light of the Thomas Fire school closures, the Ojai Recreation Department is offering childcare service Thursday, December 14th and Friday, December 15th for children ages 5-13 years. All fun activities will be held inside and air filter masks will be provided for free. Parents must sign wavers before children can attend, no drop offs. Online registration available. Ventura Family YMCA - Channel Islands YMCA

The YMCA provides holiday and school break care for students grades K-8.  The YMCA provides a stimulating, creative atmosphere that introduces children to arts & crafts, dramatic play, and toys appropriate to their motor skill level. A registration form and school break form are required to register. Child care is open to all, with financial assistance available. Families that lost their homes to the Thomas Fire are welcome and will be provided child care services at no cost.

Boys & Girls Club of Greater Ventura

The Ventura Boys and Girls Clubs are offering extended childcare and activities to support Club families and families affected by the Thomas Fire.  All activities will be conducted indoors to protect the health and safety of participating children. Families are required to complete an application form to participate, but the usual club fee will be waived.  Please call the Club location prior to arrival to verify the location is open.
